Micah and Nicole Moscou- Owners of PSB

Nicole Moscou is the founder of PSB, Ballet Instructor, and Artistic Director of performances.
Micah Moscou is taking over the "business side" of things, so he will be your contact for most questions that you have.

The Prosser School of Ballet's roots go back to 1999 when instructor Nicole Moscou, then a high-schooler, began teaching a few small classes at the Fitness Center and in the homes of students. As the interest grew, she taught through Parks and Recreation while finishing school. By then, the little family of students had grown considerably, and Nicole decided to start her own business. The Prosser School of Ballet held its first official classes in an upstairs room of the Mercer Building in the Fall of 2003.
PSB is now the ballet home to nearly 100 students of all ages. Tumbling classes for children are also taught at the studio.
PSB's ballet program has performed numerous productions over the years, including "The Nutcracker", "The Sleeping Beauty", "Swan Lake" and several original productions. This year marks the 10th anniversary recital, and a special celebration is planned.
PSB is located at 719 6th Street in the historic Mercer Building, in downtown Prosser.

Ballet is a beautiful discipline, as well as art form. It is also a fun way to exercise! Ballet incorporates balance and alignment with strength and flexibility to really challenge the physical limits of the human body.
At PSB, classical ballet training begins at a very young age, where students learn basic steps, develop their imaginations, and learn grace and confidence. As they grow, students are introduced to more challenging techniques and repetitive exercises which keep the body toned and ready for the execution of dance. Students learn to memorize choreography, to portray a character, and to reach their personal goals in their dancing. As teenagers, experienced dancers train en pointe, dancing on the tips of their toes, and are prepared for wherever they decide to take their dance training.
While it is best for students to start ballet training at a young age, anyone with determination and a love for dancing can join in at any time. Our Adult ballet classes cater to beginning teens and adults, or those who have spent many years away from the barre and wish to return. Often, students begin at a later age and work hard, so that they catch up to their age-mates in a short time.
At PSB, we believe that developing the character of a dancer is just as important as developing the technique. Ballet brings joy and fulfillment to so many people, and through dancers, many others are inspired. We strive to build the confidence of the dancers and encourage them to work through their weaknesses, and enhance their strengths. Each body is created uniquely, and each has its own abilities. We encourage dancers to work to achieve their goals, but not to compete or compare.

Nicole Moscou began her ballet training at the age of five, and has since studied under several teachers throughout the Northwest. Being homeschooled, she had more opportunity to study and practice dance outside of her weekly classes. She performed with several ballet performing groups and attended workshops and intensives to strengthen her knowledge. One of her favorite experiences was working with her instructor Lisa Price of the Yakima School of Ballet and the YVCC Jazz Ensemble in a collaborative project called "Emotions", which featured original music by Dr. Isidore Rudnik and choreography by Lisa Price. The performance was staged in an art gallery, and Nicole the the three other dancers were surrounded by beautiful artwork and the live, often improvisational music.
She began teaching ballet to young children at the age of sixteen, and has since "grown up" with the dancers. She attended college locally at YVCC while continuing to teach and opened the Prosser School of Ballet upon her graduation in 2003. She has been married to Micah for three years, and they have two young children.
